I am deeply saddened that I cannot be there with all of you to say goodbye to such a wonderful and kind Uncle. Uncle Johnny will be greatly missed. The only thing that gives me comfort is knowing that he, my dad and Pa are all reunited and probably telling jokes and spinning tales now. My love and condolences to all of you.

Dear Atwell Family, it is with great sadness that I send condolences to you. Johnny was a ‘one of a kind guy’. Johnny and I burned a lot of road gas throughout the years discussing agriculture and life in general. He was undoubtedly the best ag pilot our community has ever had. He had more common sense in his little toe than most people have in their whole body. He was as honest as the days are long. He was truely an asset to the Neelyville community. We are all going to miss him. I’m sending my prayers to the family. Richard

Johnny always had a smile and a funny story for anyone he knew or didn't know. He was my neighbor for many, many years and a good friend. A sensible and wise man. I hold Johnny and his dear family in such high regard and I send my deepest sympathy to all that will miss him and his enjoyable company. My best to you Gram, siblings, children, grandchildren, family and friends. We share in your grief. He will be missed. Sincerely, Myra

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Johnny Atwell. I remember the day that he took me for a helicopter ride and showed me how he went through his routine. Also, I have many wonderful fond memories of all the Atwell family gatherings. Much love to all of you, Anna Mae
