I only knew Mr. Hennessy from our church family. He always had a smile and I loved his accent too. I send sympathy to Lucille and their children.

I also had Mr. Hennessy as my 5th and 6th grade teacher, and have always referred to him as my favorite teacher. No other teacher held my attention, commanded respect and obedience and encouraged my learning - not just in academics but in life lessons. He taught me how to walk with confidence and gave me my first self-defense lesson. He was kind, but did not coddle us. If only every teacher could be like Mr. Hennessy! I moved away from Missouri many years ago, but often wished I could have sent him a note or thank you again for what he meant in my life. His life made a difference in mine and I know so many others! Prayers for the family's peace and comfort.

This was my favorite teacher EVER! He ruled his class with a commanding presence and a loving hart. We lived for his stories, advice, loving discipline, and ALWAYS supportive attitude. I had begun looking for him a little over a week ago and am heartbroken I did not find him in time. I was HONORED to have him for a teacher. His accent was always part of his charm as well as his ability to inspire. Words can not express the honor I feel to have known him and the sadness I feel at his passing.

I'm another former student from Lake Road. Mr Hennessy was one of only a very few teachers that I had in my life that truly made a difference. His Friday stories made me love books! I was always impressed that he actually played with students outside at recess when he could have been relaxing for a few minutes. He valued all his students and truly made us better people because of his example. I am so thankful for his influence in my life and I know he will be rewarded for his life of ministry to children. May God give comfort and peace to his family. What a blessing to have known him.

Mr. Hennessy was one of my favorite teacher ever! Lake Road School was a new school for me and he made the transition easier. I have never forgotten about him and often referenced him. Just a great man. My sincerest condolences to his family. God bless and may he rest in peace.

I was fortunate to have Mr Hennessy as my 5th & 6th grade teacher at Lake Road. So many wonderful memories of him. Great teacher and encourager. Friday afternoons we were privy to one of his wonderful tales. Often times we had to wait till the following Friday to hear the end of the story. I wonder if he ever knew what a difference he made in his student's lives. Now he can regale a new audience in heaven. Rest in Peace. Brenda (Padgett) Johnson
