I am so sorry for your loss. Our thoughts are with you all. Eric was my neighbor for a short time when he and his family lived on Ellen Lane. He was a fantastic young man and we loved him and his wife and children. May God Bless you all and give you comfort.

Eric was a prominent student in one of my courses. Though it was several years ago now, he left a prominent impression as a man with both feet planted firmly on the ground and kind, quiet determination as his hallmark. I think my favorite memory of Eric was when he volunteered to guide us, his Park and Wildland Management class at SIU, on a canoeing field trip to his beloved southern Missouri. He was a leader among his classmates at every step of the way with that intelligent and easygoing way of his. He introduced many students to a new world of big springs, river life, and swimming holes. We all made a lot of good memories even on that short weekend with him. Eric was a good man and we all lost something when he passed away. To his family, I am so sorry for your loss. Logan Park

Prayers for all of Eric's family. It's been a while since we've seen Eric. I remember him as a cute and sweet little boy that Travis would have out to the house to play or vice versa. We're so very sorry for your loss. The Myatt's

This is a very hard time but I’m just going to remember all the fun times we had when you would chase me with deer antlers and then let me do it to you, when you would give me awesome rides on your shoulders, when you would let me climb the shelves when no one else would, or when you would let me play with your duck calls. You were an amazing cousin and I think about you everyday and all the fun times we had together I miss you and I’m going to miss playing hide and seek but you are still with me everyday as I grow up. I love you. I promise I will make sure to tell Leigha about how great her daddy was and how much he loved her and everything you taught me I will pass down to her.

Sending sympathies on behalf of myself and the Department of Forestry at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Eric was a wonderful young man, I will never forget his diligence as he pursued his Bachelors' degree in Forestry while going through such serious health concerns. I followed Eric on Facebook and was thrilled to see that he was enjoying and making the most of life. I can still see him sitting in my office now, with that wonderful smile on his face. Prayers are with his family and friends.

Eric, We want you to know how very proud of you that we are. You have grown up to be an amazing person. You have filled our lives with humor and stories that we will hold close to our hearts forever. We remember when you made an announcement to all of the family that you were going to change the date of your birthday, because you never liked your birthday being so close to Christmas, you felt like it never got the recognition that it deserved. You changed it so many times we all lost track of when it really was. How funny! That is just one of many funny stories and memories that we have on you. And There were many. We watched you since you were diagnosed at age 2 with this terrible disease which kept you in ad out of hospitals most of your life. But You never let it keep you from trying to live life to its fullest. Your courage and your bravery were a testament to all of us ! You were an father to the most beautiful little girl ever and this picture says it all. She would look right into your eyes as if to say " Daddy your the best Daddy in the whole wide world." We are all sad for our loss of you but we want you to know that we will keep your memory alive with our funny stories and memories of your amazing life. We love you so much and know that you will be missed! Your Favorite Aunt and Uncle Debbie & Marty
